Overall, this was a wonderful place to stay for our week on the Amalfi Coast. The property is very nice with an amazing view of the sea. The surrounding environment is full of olive trees, which enhances the beauty. The owners, a wonderful older Italian couple that harvests the olives from those trees, were so nice to us (and completely unobtrusive - and don't expect English!) - they brought us fresh olive oil from their harvest, and great-tasting fresh cut tomatoes from their garden when we first arrived. The only things to be aware of are the following: you definately need a car to stay here as it is a little off the beaten track (not that bad, but you'll want to be able to drive in and out). The drive between the Lizard and the small town of Torca up above is not for a timid driver (really tight spots/turns, etc.) The very nice two-story house with great grounds had all the basic stuff you'd need, but ask for extra towels make sure you bring the staples of food items like coffee, etc. The addl charges for energy usage are not cheap so depending upon what time of year you're there, be mindful of A/C or heat use. We used the washing machine a few times and apparently that wasn't cheap along with using the gas stove, etc. We ended up paying an extra $%150, although the rental fee in mid-October was very reasonable. If you don't mind being somewhere quieter, and more authentic (we never do) with a smashing view and very nice accommodations - the Lizard could be the ticket for you.
Perfect location to explore Tuscany - particularly the Chianti region.

Renters be advised that in addition to the advertised cost you will pay for gas usage when you leave which is "expensive gas" we paid 30 euros and only ran the heating for half an evening
Functional fire place looked nice but it was unusable as no kindling was provided.
[Owner counter comment] We have checked the shower and toilet plumbing, all is functioning fine. We always check everything when guests arrive and when they go away, but we never had noise in the bathroom. We suppose it was a momentary thing due to the floating which maybe had moved and then placed itself back in place.
We had been very clear on the consumption and the cost of LPG and for a daily us of the heating we indicated a variable amount up to a maximum of € 50. We did the reading of the meter and showed it to the guests. For a consumption of 9 mc I have received a bill of € 45,92 , so € 30 for 6 mc seems a fair amount to us.
There sure are all types of firewood in and around the house but one also needs the skill of starting a fire.
Casa Turchesa is in a wonderful location. The views are lovely. The house is spacious and it is a short walk into Greve with good shops, restaurants and market.Monica is very helpful. The house could do with a couple of comfortable armchairs for the evening time. Overall a great base for this part of Tuscany.
Our stay was everything we had hoped for in a villa in Tuscany. Great base for days trips round the region. Both apartments have wonderful decorative touches combining old world with modern convinces. The owners were friendly and inviting,the dinner they prepare for all the guests was wonderful. We will definitely come again
Very nice views. Missing usual things as sugar, salt, tea. Fireplace not connected yet. Hard to comunicate with ms Maria, speaks just Italian and not willing to call for help. However, owners are really nice and honest.
Haben uns in der Unterkunft Podere Degli Olivi sehr wohl gefühlt, würden jederzeit dort wieder Urlaub machen.

The apartment was wonderful and probably our favorite of the apartments we stayed in during our two week Italian vacation. The unit is very charming with the curved ceilings, rustic beams, and beautiful kitchen fixtures. The apartment's location is perfect, very close to the Leaning Tower, and close enough to the train station to walk (if carrying luggage, it might be better to take a taxi). It's best to close the windows in the living room and kitchen at night since they open onto a small street. There is some noise from people walking by or an occasional scooter. The windows and shutters block any noise when they are closed. We left the window in the back bedroom, that faces the courtyard open all night, and didn't hear any noise. The apartment is very peaceful, the washing machine is easy to use an the providing drying rack is large, which was very nice. The owner provided an internet hot- spot, which was great. However, connectivity worked best if you were near the unit. The walls are very thick, so reception wasn't great if you were too far away. The unit is portable and is about the size of credit card (but thicker) so it was easy to keep nearby. We would definately stay in this apartment again, on our next visit.
