Nice property situated in the heart of the Chianti Classico region comprising 5 units (3 of which are for rent, 1 is occupied by the property owners and the other by the key-holders). This property is on a large farming estate producing organic oil and wine (available to be purchased). This house, whose origins date back to over 300 years ago, has been completely restored and turned into welcoming country accommodations providing nice interiors furnished in a rustic style.
Outside guests can enjoy use of a large area sloping down to a covered, furnished terrace with tables and sofas offering beautiful panoramic views over the surrounding landscape.
The property owners share the use of the pool occasionally but if the 3 apartments are rented by the same group of customers, the pool will be for the exclusive use of guests.
The access to the property is via an unpaved road of approx. 1,5 km.

At guests’ disposal: large garden with panoramic, covered terrace, swimming-pool ((14 x 6 m – min. depth 1,1 m – max. depth 1,7 m – open from 01/05 through 30/09) and bowling green. All of the apartments provide a personal, furnished garden. WI-FI internet available (free of charge).
Parking within the grounds.
Extra services to be paid on the spot: Maid service by arrangement at € 10,- / per hour. Washing-machine available at € 3,- / per washing.
Small pets are permitted at an extra charge of € 40,- / per pet.

The property is in a good location and has wonderful views over the local Tuscan countryside. However we found the property tired and pricey for what it was. The lady owner was not welcoming Anc the mandatory cleaning charge was a joke when there were cobwebs in all of the rooms. It is not a property we will return to or recommend to others.

très beau site. Bon accueil avec petit panier alimentaire. Le gîte "Méla" est un peu trop petit (16m2), mais suffisant par beau temps pour un couple.La déco est simple et belle. Bonne literie. Prix du ménage obligatoire de 50€ trop élevé pour ce gîte et pourquoi ne pas l'inclure dans le coût de la location?

We stayed in the “La Pergola” apartment at Il Poggetto for one week. Our hosts, Fabrizio and Eva, were very nice. The apartment was comfortable, although interior lighting was limited. The farmhouse is in a beautiful location. It is at the end of a steep and bumpy gravel road, which wasn’t a problem for us, but some guests might find the road rather daunting. In Castellina in Chianti, a small town about 15 minutes away, we discovered several excellent restaurants.
The main problem we had during our stay was the lack of internet in the apartment from the day we arrived, Sunday, until Thursday. To access the internet during this period we had to go outdoors and around to the front of the house. This was disappointing, especially since the description of the apartment said that there was internet, and before our arrival I had asked for and received written confirmation from Easy Reserve that we would have internet. During the last three days we were finally able to access the internet but it was extremely slow. We managed to download email, but web pages and messages with file attachments often couldn’t be downloaded.

Kitchen is very small, as the whole kit (sink, oven, cupboards) is in a big cabinet

A slice of pure heaven. Il Poggetto was the perfect place to realise our dream of "immersing ourselves in Tuscany"
