Beautiful apartment on the top floor of an historical building in Lucca's famous Piazza Anfiteatro. From the window facing right onto the square it is possible to enjoy the many events and exhibitions that take place throughout the year: on the occasion of the S. Zita festival from April 24 to 27 there is a very evocative flower market, while in June and July there are many music events, and in December Christmas decorations are displayed in the center of the piazza.
The apartment has just been renovated, and is well furnished and very comfortable. Just a few steps away are shops of every kind. It is possible to walk or bike the 4,2 km of city walls that encircle Lucca (bicycle rentals possible in the immediate vicinity). A short distance away there is also the Tuscan coast of Versilia, renowned for its large, equipped beaches and famous clubs and restaurants.
Distances: the center of Lucca is steps away, Pisa (airport) 20 km away, Viareggio (fully equipped beaches) 25 km, Florence 70 km away. The Cinque Terre are approx. 90 km away.

The apartment was everything we had hoped for. It was spacious, stylish and had excellent facilities. The entrance was rather uninviting but after climbing the forty or so steps up to the apartment, you are rewarded with a gem of a find for your stay in Lucca. There are several shops nearby, including a bakers, a butchers, greengrocers and general store. There are many restaurants to choose from and we enjoyed those recommended by the apartment owners.

We loved our time in Lucca and especially loved the apartment. It is newly decorated so it was modern, clean with excellent kitchen and bathroom facilities. I think the apartment had the best location in town overlooking restaurants and shops in the amphitheatre below. Bruno the owner was so helpful and really made us feel welcome and provided us with map and he gave us advice on where and what to do in Lucca. Photo below of us looking out of apartment window.

Anfiteatro 62 was in the ideal location in Lucca right in the centre, so we could walk to everything including public transport. The main bedroom, bathroom and living area were well appointed with nice natural light. The living area had plenty of space for four people with nice touches. The attic bedroom and bathroom were a bit cramped due to the low ceiling. I would not recommend this area for anyone tall as it would be quite annoying. Bruno the owner was very helpful giving us a range of suggestions for cafes and excursions.
